WELCOME!

A Letter from the Secretary-Generals — Conference Update 10/31/25

Dear Honorable Delegates and Advisors,

Welcome to PHSMUN III! It is our pleasure as Secretary-Generals to invite you to the third iteration of the Portola High School Model United Nations conference.

Bringing this conference to life has been a journey fueled by collaboration, creativity, and the shared belief in the value of diplomacy. From its beginnings as a simple vision, the Portola MUN conference, has, in just two years, grown into a dynamic reality–one that reflects the enthusiasm and commitment we hope to see mirrored in our delegates. We believe that successful delegates possess the ability to think on their feet, lead others to compromise, and cooperate with one another at all times. Attendees are sure to leave the weekend with a fulfilling conference.

This year, our Secretariat has worked diligently to expand and enhance the PHSMUN experience. Our 2026 conference will feature two novice committees, two advanced committees, and one crisis committee, exploring topics ranging from gene editing and global health, to a League of Nations historical crisis set in the interwar period. For the first time ever, we are also proud to introduce a middle school committee and specialized committee, broadening opportunities for delegates of all levels. For more committee information, please refer to our committee page linked under ‘Conferences’!

Additionally, information regarding registration and fees can be found at our ‘Registration page.’ Delegations that submitted our interest form will receive a special discount on student advisor and delegation fees—please watch your inbox for more details!

Without your support, this conference would not be possible. On that note and on behalf of our Secretariat, our advisors, and the Portola MUN community, we would like to thank you for showing interest in becoming a part of PHSMUN history. We look forward to meeting you all in February!

Sincerely,
Suhana Kaur and Alex Lingerfelt
